Maybe not many people read P.G. Wodehouse and also Richard Dawkins' books on the evolution of life. Or maybe there are lashings of us, I dunno. Anyway, here is my contribution to Wodehousiana: In Dawkins' The Ancestor's Tale, U.S. edition, page 316, a passage on newts carries this footnote:
