A Christmas Carol
adapted by a professor

One Xmas season recently we saw a production of the classic at a college nearby. Oh, dear.

One of the fog effects worked really well. Two more nice things about the show: There were no tumblers, and we didn't have to sit on folding chairs in a middle-school gym.

I don't generally hold with being busked at for a half-hour after the published curtain time, and this was no exception.

When you use projection effects, it is important to point the instrument at the right spot.

I've never been sure whether kid performers are more annoying when they talk fast or when they talk loud. Now it's clear. Fast is worse.

This was the first five-ghost Xmas Carol for me. Ghost of Marley, Ghost of Xmas Past, Ghost of Xmas Present and Ghost of Xmas Yet to Come are typically the whole squad. This production also featured Ghost of Alastair Sim.

The tombstone gag works better if you don't spell the name Ebeneezer.

Not my cup of tea, this production.
