Five Women Wearing the Same Dress
Nathan is the local color wizard. The pink and taupe ("Simply Taupe," it said on the paint chip) were his inspiration. Here Beth and Memoree watch him preparing a second or third color for sponge-texturing.
I stayed well back away from the sponging. Working on Henry's design for The Dining Room a few years ago, I proudly sponge-textured a wall, stepped to a good viewing distance, and only then noticed the perfectly regular pattern of thumbprints. Henry was quite calm as he repainted the wall and found me something else to do.
