Bedroom Farce images
Officially, Jan. 3-4 was the third weekend of set construction. Andy and I found the holidays hanging heavy on our hands, so we spent a day, off the clock, putting up some walls. These photos will give you an idea what happened on the New Year's first weekend.
(Center:) Andy prefers cutting and drilling but once in a great while will join the painting effort. Here he's been putting up dutchman. (Top left and right:) Two sections of the set after the first round of painting. (Bottom left:) The tout ensemble after base coating (i.e., most of the colors not yet in place). (Bottom right:) Two of Steve's kids, Jack and Claire, rest after putting in some serious work on the set. The middle child, Katie, never held still long enough to get photographed.
We still have to build Jan and Nick's bed, finish the wallpaper and wainscoting in Ernest and Delia's room, mount quite a lot of moldings, and paint the floors. Steve W. has been working on lights all along, and we'll have excellent effects in this show that depends so heavily on lighting to move the action from room to room.
