Same old routine: last thing before opening the show is to paint the deck a new color. No one now living knows the full depth of the paint on that stage; when we replace the floor, I have a scheme to cut the old one into brick-sized pieces, grind them at a shallow angle, and label each layer of paint with the show it was applied for. (I personally have seen a good 40 coats put down, to say nothing of spills, spattering and texturing, graining and lines.) Then we sell the blocks to raise money to pay for the new deck.
