Town & Gown put Crimes up 20 years ago, before I joined the company. Now Harriet, one of our most senior members but by no means one of the eldest, takes the assignment to direct a new production. "The values are in the dialog and the characters, not the set," she says, so we aimed to suggest the McGrath kitchen rather than stand it up in front of the people. As I write this I haven't seen the final picture, but two weeks out I believe we were on the right track.
