Crimes of the Heart images
It would have made your head spin, too. We took some pieces of the set from the high school's stock (steps and platforms), drew others from Town & Gown stock (platforms, draperies), and built some (freestanding door units). Other pieces, such as appliances, came through director Harriet's connections in the salvage industry. How we got everything to fit together I'll never know. The photo above shows our progress up to August 29, after three weekends of work. No one was ever worried that we wouldn't get this set finished. Pretty obviously, the stairs lead to the second-floor rooms. The door standing at your right stays closed all the time, because Old Granddaddy is in the hospital and not using his downstairs room. The screen doors at center and your left go outdoors. Some spaces for kitchen equipment are not yet filled, although the sink and counter, an especially happy find for Harriet, are in. See the next page for more on the sink.
