The Devil's Disciple images
It was also a pity that at least two people in the house didn't turn off their cell phones. Jackasses. Now to begin the photos from the performance. Act 1, Scene 1. Ancient Mrs. Dudgeon rails at Essie for sleeping on the couch. With Mrs. Dudgeon everybody starts out with two strikes, and Essie's third is that she is a poor, dirty, illegitimate orphan relation. Essie is worn out because the news came last night that her father had been hanged by the British army as a "notorious rebel." Oh, I didn't give you the setup? It's 1777, New Hampshire, and an army commanded by Gen. John Burgoyne is on the move, aiming to join up with another army and crush the rebellion in New England. The hangings, one gathers, are slated to continue until all the Americans fall into line.
