The bitter enders on Leap Day

From my point of view, director Amy could not have cast the show better. These folks came in with excellent skills and lots of energy, and they are making fine progress with their set. In this photo you see the last ones to leave on Sunday, Feb. 29: left to right, Karen, Amber, Andy, Mary Margaret, Hank and Nikki. I wish we had had one more big dumb guy to help install the piano (out of the frame to the right).

My miscalculation led to our having to rebuild the pivots under the pterodactyls this weekend. The new ones are great, heavy, manly pivots and the units revolve just as sweetly as if they were on wheels. This weekend also produced Dinah's toy chest, the tennis net, the swimming pool ladder (in the foreground, and there's a story), most of the banquet kitchen, and the trees you see above. The blue faces of the three pterodactyls will become the South Parlor of the Lord mansion; another face will show the house and grounds. The set is shaping well: It should look sort of homemade, but it will change quickly and smoothly in the fluid action of the show (curtain goes up, song, dance, song, curtain goes down, people go home).
