Above you see the model I built to show Steven. As always, the scale is 3/8 inch to one foot; Scaleboy® and Scalemaid® stand in to demonstrate size relationships. Odd fact about spirals: If you look straight on at a stairway built on a circular plan with a constant rise from step to step, it seems to have a "shoulder" where the slope changes. I don't understand that.
