I foresee endless battles with Allen, the facility manager, about this extension. He holds that it adds too much area and designers will feel they have to use the extra space (community theater designers don't always believe in the great value of restrictions and obstacles). For my counterexample I point to Amy, who moved her entire show six feet downstage as soon as the apron went in. And you can use the space underneath for storage.
We have two more weekends to work, although the lighting crew may have to seize control for a day or two. The downstage doors need shutters, I have to prepare and hang lots of molding, there is a bit of dutchman yet to hang, a ton of pictures have to go up, and yikes! We haven't even started on the balustrade. Sorry, gotta go.
