Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead:
design background and images
This 1960s script by Tom Stoppard looks at Hamlet from an odd angle: Two minor characters try to understand the action of the play and, in entirely justified dread, how it may affect them. The setting is fluid and there is only a minimum of shifting and humping of scenery.
The show opened Sept. 19, Year 3, kicking off Town & Gown's fiftieth anniversary season. Good work by the cast and crew. In October they took it to the Georgia Theater Conference, coming away with a second place ranking and tied Best Actor awards to Derek and Mike.

The ground plan is informative if you are used to reading plans. This first page presents the Act 1 plan. |
And the second shows the Act 3 plan. |

| Here is the model I built (compare with Act 3 plan). |
And a provisional calendar for the construction project. |

| And so the company prepared for the Georgia Theater Conference. There are two peculiar things about this wristwatch. First, it reads 7:35 in the morning. Second . . . you'll see. |
The judges docked us some points for informality before the performance began. |
