Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead:
design background and images

This 1960s script by Tom Stoppard looks at Hamlet from an odd angle: Two minor characters try to understand the action of the play and, in entirely justified dread, how it may affect them. The setting is fluid and there is only a minimum of shifting and humping of scenery.

The show opened Sept. 19, Year 3, kicking off Town & Gown's fiftieth anniversary season. Good work by the cast and crew. In October they took it to the Georgia Theater Conference, coming away with a second place ranking and tied Best Actor awards to Derek and Mike.

The wristwatch The extraction
And so the company prepared for the Georgia Theater Conference. There are two peculiar things about this wristwatch. First, it reads 7:35 in the morning. Second . . . you'll see. The judges docked us some points for informality before the performance began.
