Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead

It really feels good when the cast of a show pulls out the chocks and gets rolling on their set. That happened the last weekend of August. The photo above shows the big level as it will appear in Act 3: The barrels are in place and the sea chest, a new addition, is nearly painted.

The barrel crew did a marvelous job. The units look better than I even hoped. Next weekend we'll trim and paint them and invent a way to keep the lids from straying when the Ragedians emerge. (If you want to know how the magic works, check with me after the show closes. And I may not tell you then.) The sea chest will serve as an aid to the Ragedians who are not tall enough to exit their barrels in one mighty leap.

The next page shows a unit that I've worried about and one that has not given me a single minute's anxiety.
