The Rover images

Jason workingJason, who was so terribly injured that he had to drop out as A.D. on Lettice & Lovage, got back in high gear in time for The Rover. At left you see him engaged in painting at a late stage in the construction process. During performances, when the crew set the bed and cocked the mechanism, Jason lay behind it with his hand on a safety pin; just a bare moment before Blount's leap, Jason pulled the pin. Everybody figured the bed would have collapsed prematurely, no matter how many successful trials it went through in rehearsal.

Andy listening to notesAndy, another L&L alum, took a big part in this show and also contributed greatly to building the set for it. Here Cameron gives him some kind of paint note. Andy hates to paint; on the next show (The Royal Family), he found the only gallon of paint with a loose lid and overturned it into the black orchestra pit. No problem, though; the mop brigade helped him remove the bright yellow before it could dry.
