Six Degrees of Separation: images
Cal's design puts two of these frames at the Upstage flanks of the big level. They will display and also delimit acting groups. Quite large they are, about 30 inches wide (inside) by 42 high. So Andy, as assistant director, goes antiquing. Most dealers don't even have such big frames, and where he finds one he's stunned by the price, starting around $900. But the dealer says to him, "Hey, if you find any nice ones for your play, let me know when it's over. I might buy them from you." I really don't see that happening; the frames are roughly built from 1x4 with a lot of fancy molding and a lot of fancy wood filler, and they look a lot better from a few feet away than they would in your drawing room with Uncle Oscar's portrait.
