The Suitors images
Our crew had better skills than the average Town & Gown collection. Nearly everybody was up to using an electric screwdriver, and at least two people knew that when plywood is being sawed it's helpful to go and stand on one end to keep it from shifting around.
Both these photos show a round white object. Steven mined the script for prop cues and found the porter Petit-Jean (played by the second-biggest actor I've seen on this stage, and the biggest was a Georgia sheriff's deputy, that will give you some idea) referring to a layer cake. So he bought some poly foam and built a cake. At this early date it doesn't have the icing, so it is still jugglable, and Will and Brooke each took a turn. The next image shows our first weekend's progress. On the 16th and 17th we begin painting—in fact we should get pretty near done with the painting. I hope we'll finish the set on the 24th and have the last weekend before Tech Week idle. But that remains in the lap of the gods.
