The Cast

Cyrano de Bergerac is Beth Kozinsky's (Bellerose, Cook, Sister Marthe) first show with the loopies of Town & Gown, and she seems to fit in nicely. Though fantastically amazing in many respects, she displays her talents daily in the role of a freshman at UGA. Thanks to my support group and all the friends I drag to my productions. Mom and Dad, I love you.

Angela Mitchell (Food Seller, Cook, Servant, Gascon) has appeared in T&G's A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Merry Wives of Windsor. She thanks her husband, Andrew, and her dog, Boo, for their support and encouragement.

Mike Smith (Know-It-All, Gascon), a UGA drama major, has been in T&G shows including The Merry Wives of Windsor and The Rivals. Backstage, he is an accomplished carpenter and supervisor. He drives a Volvo and has to have someone write his biography.

Christina Whitfield (Apprentice, Cook, Nun) has performed in 13 mainstage productions in the last seven years and is making her first appearance at T&G. She is thrilled to work with such crazy talent. The Show Rocks.

Mark Taylor (Musketeer, Gascon), originally from Washington, D.C., now lives in the woods of Madison County. He liked playing Paris in Romeo and Juliet and Jésus Costazuela in The Odd Couple (female version) among many. I'd like to thank my Mom and Dad. I love you, Hal.

J.W. Wright (Valvert, Servant, Gascon) is an advertising and telecommunications major at UGA. He has been involved with many of T&G's shows in the last three years, most recently finishing his co-directorship of The Sisters Rosensweig. He would like to thank Mom, Dad, Brooke, and especially Reannon for letting him spend way too much time with his other love.

Eric Tushawn Burden (Viscount, Gascon) was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and served as a Medical Supply Specialist in the U.S. Army after graduating from Macon County High School. He has been married to Lydia Yolanda Pope Burden for 5½ years. A sports fan and reader, he operates Perfection Cleaning Service and plans to make a career out of acting.

W. Lee Johnson (Marquis, Spanish Officer), an Air Force veteran, is a senior in English at UGA and has recently joined T&G for the sheer ecstasy of it all. Soon to graduate, he plans to pursue a writing career in magazine publications.

This is Millicent Hand's (Marquise, Lise, Nun) first year here in Athens (freshman, theatre major) and her first show with T&G. Past favorite experiences include working with the Atlanta Shakespeare Company and the Georgia Renaissance Festival. Thanks to Ben for this opportunity, and to my wonderful family.

You may remember Jillian Price (Musician) as Tess Goode in T&G's production of The Sisters Rosensweig, or you may have seen her in one of her off-Broadway (way WAY off) shows in New Jersey. She'd also like to thank Bob, her guitar, for all his patience and cooperation.

David Schiller's (Music Director, Musician) finest moment in the theater (till now) came in A Midsummer Night's Dream, when, accompanied by his dog Dita, he spoke the immortal lines, "All that I have to say is to tell you that the lantern is the moon, I the man-in-the-moon, and this dog my dog." Now he can only hope that what Hamlet said about the recorder is true: "It is as easy as lying. Govern these ventages with your fingers and thumb, give it breath with your mouth, and it will discourse the most eloquent music."

Brantley Settle (Brissaille, Capuchin) last appeared in The Oldest Living Graduate. Thanks to my wife for taking up the slack on the home front.

Andrew Flick (Lignière, Cook, Gascon): I'm a 19-year-old new arrival to Athens. Cyrano is my first show here but I've been in theater for several years. My debut was in a fourth-grade Christmas pageant.

Jeff Howard (Christian) just loves to act. Thanks for coming. I hope you enjoy the show.

Michael Fulford (Pickpocket, Gascon, Servant) is a veteran of T&G. He has been in shows like Li'l Abner (Marryin' Sam), Oklahoma! (Jud), and Arsenic and Old Lace (Jonathan). He wants to thank Shannon and Ben for giving him his start and Jennifer for being the Roxana in his real life.

Lynn Gieger (Parisian, Poet, Servant, Sister Claire) is a grad student in math education at UGA. She did her first T&G show last fall (Soap Opera) after experiencing too many withdrawal symptoms from college theatre. Her career plans include staying in school forever to free up more time for community theater. Also, she says hello to the best Pasha in the whole world.

Stacy Sampson (Parisian, Poet, Servant, Mother Marguérite) has not been on stage since high school and is really excited to be back in the biz! Her favorite role was Gwendolyn in The Importance of Being Earnest. She would like to send out kisses and hugs to her hubby for his patience and love. Lots of love to her friends and family for their support. Also, thanks to the Stars at Athens Montessori for their encouragement.

Dee Bass (Parisian, Renaudot, Gascon) has not been in a production since high school and is glad to get involved with the stage again. She is currently taking classes at the Northeast Georgia Performing Arts Center.Or new bio to be supplied

Ralph Monte (Ragueneau): A UGA freshman in psychology, this is his first, but hopefully not his last, play with T&G. Ralph has been in productions of Twigs and Hello Dolly! as well as in the UGA Drama Department's In the Time of the Revolution and in the UGA Black Theatrical Ensemble's "funkdified" production of Romeo and Juliet, as Benvolio.

A painter/photographer, Marlin Geiger (Lebret) recently received his M.F.A. from UGA's Lamar Dodd School of Art. He last appeared on stage as Axel in T&G's production of The Nerd.

Jennifer Deeken (Roxana) is a graduate student in Special Education at UGA and is looking forward (sort of) to getting her first grown-up job. Previous roles include Pam in The East-West Relation, Madison in Right or Left at the Altar, and Abigail in The Crucible. She would like to extend her heartfelt thanks to her parents, her roomie, and, most of all, Michael.

Lailah Feldman (Duenna): Heartfelt thanks to Ben for giving me the chance to tread the T&G boards after a 13-year hiatus. Don't blink, you'll miss me. I dedicate this performance to my long-suffering husband, Edmund, and to the dearest girl in all the world, my granddaughter, Nikki.

Eric Wagoner (Count de Guiche) is making his third in a series of appearances on the Athens stage. He's finishing his first year here after moving from New Mexico and hopes to stay many more. He spends his days developing software for electric utilities and his evenings leading Gascons in battle against the Spanish.

An almost graduate of UGA's Henry W. Grady College of Journalism, Regina Moon (Actor, Poet, Gascon) is making her eighth appearance on the T&G stage. Thank you, Father and Mother, for attending every single performance. I love you!

Cyrano is Jessica Lawson's (Actor, Poet, Servant) debut with T&G. She has recently appeared as Allegra Dolce in UGA's Masque of the Red Death and had the title role of Jess in an Emerson University silent film, Jess and Kate. Thanks to my family and Jorge for all your support! I love you all.

Stephen Griffin (Montfleury, Gascon) is making what may be his final appearance in Athens. He is off now to North Carolina to begin his career and wishes to thank his friends both at Town & Gown and at ACT for their love and support.

Jason Sterling (Cyrano) is a long-term senior double majoring in Theater and English. He has two heroes: Cyrano, and that hero's hero—Don Quixote. Hippocampocamelelephunt, say that ten times fast.

Staff and Crew

Ben Teague has already done every other job at Town & Gown, including Bellerose's, but directing is a big step even so. Jeff Howard stole his Director's Notes and used them in his biography.

Kristin M. Cuchens (Assistant Director): As my first attempt at A.D., this has been a doozy! To a wonderfully fun and talented cast, to Fran for her furtive questions about candy, and most especially to Ben for a great experience: Thank You. And "Thank You" Jeremy for all of your love and support.

Rex Lowell Graham Ottinger, Sr. (Producer and Production Accountant) is an accountant with Oliver Rubber Company. He has worked with college and community theaters all over Georgia and North Carolina. At T&G he is a former treasurer and will be remembered for his performance as Senator Phogbound in Li'l Abner last summer.

Rick Rose (Set Designer) has been an active member of Town and Gown Players since 1990 and has designed, directed, and acted in many productions

at T&G and in the Athens-Clarke County Community. He has also served on the Board of Directors for several years and is serving out his last few months as President of Town and Gown Players, Inc.

Amy Miller (Costume Designer)is usually seen onstage at T&G (Personals, Baby, The Pirates of Penzance), but she cheerfully traded in the smell of the greasepaint and the roar of the crowd for the chance to play dress-up with the Cyrano cast. Thanks, Ben!

Bob Harris (Prop Supervisor) says, "My usual place at T&G is in the audience. Ben, thank you for the opportunity to somewhat repay my debt for the 10 years of enjoyment as a season ticket holder."

Debbie Karrigan (Prop Supervisor) is a member of the Athens Improv Troupe and has performed as well as held production staff positions with Pro-Am Productions. She got dramatic training at the Atlanta Screen Actors Studio and Gainesville College. Thanks to Ben for allowing me to work on this play. All my love to my daughter, Heather.
